About Roger

Born in Brazil, moving alone to Australia at 17 years of age, Roger believes that loyalty, respect and hard work are the keys for success.

Roger is the tactician of The MCC Group and enjoys hard challenges. His highly entrepreneurial skills and bold approach has resulted in the expansion of the group and consolidation of it’s companies. Roger has been a director of The MCC Group since 2019 but worked with MCC for close to a decade prior.

Roger was in charge of the first bulk transhipment of approximately 300,000 tonnes of cargo into Vanuatu, assisting the local government in re-surfacing the air strip and main roads. Roger trained locals and operated standard bulk carrier cranes and equipment in the most difficult conditions in open water, delivering 9 different grades of cargoes, into 7 different locations, using 4 different barges under different draft restrictions due to the high movement of water on the islands. All cargo delivered safely with no incidents, the delivery took approximately 6 months.
Roger for a second time was engaged to deliver 2 shipments of approximately 30,000 tonnes each into Norfolk Island. This was one of the most challenging thing he has ever done, says Roger, The island being so small, there is no lee side, winds, currents and swells wrap around our beautiful Norfolk island making it a true nightmare for those trying to operate cranes and secure barges alongside a bulk carrier. Another successful delivery.
Roger was sent to China by a major client as part of a development team to understand how cement in powder behaves during bulk vessel discharges. Roger is in charge of all the discharges performed by The MCC Group and has trained all our waterfront experts team from the ground.
During the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors 2019 biennial conference held in Canberra, Roger was awarded the “STEVE BEALE – RISING STAR AWARD”. All industry leaders were present at this conference.
